Easter 2011

We had an AMAZING Easter yesterday!

I decided I wanted to do something a little fun on Easter morning, so David and I had a little egg hunt in our living room. I filled Easter eggs with candy and little notes for him to find. It was kind of cute!

Then we had some yummy Monkey Bread and coffee before heading to church.Mmmmmmm!
Then we came home and took a long walk near our house. I’m so lucky to have this beautiful state wildlife area only half a mile from our house. We just kind of stumbled upon it one day! There are 4 or 5 lakes, lots of trees, benches and paths to walk on.
Then our families came over and we spent the afternoon eating, talking, playing with the kitties, eating more, laughing, and eating more. Lots of eating!
White chocolate raspberry cake? Um, yes please!
I was so busy cooking that I didn’t notice my wonderful mother in-law the Easter Bunny bring in an Easter basket for me with an awesome book in it! I really like C.S. Lewis and I’m pretty familiar with his work, but I had somehow not heard of this book. I don’t know how I haven’t come across it year, considering the title, but I’m really excited to read it! It’s a compilation of almost 130 of his writings on various things. I can’t wait to incorporate this book into my quiet times. Thanks Easter Bunny! =)

Overall it was a wonderful Easter. I was absolutely overcome with gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice for me, His provision for us, and how meaningful my life has become since I found Him 8 year ago. I just can’t imagine life without Him. So thankful! =)

  1. I've read a fair deal of C.S. Lewis and haven't heard of that one either. Thanks for sharing! Sounds like it was a fabulous day! P.S. Can you please post or share the recipe for that amazing-looking monkey bread? 🙂
