Hellooooo 2012!!

I know it’s just a mental thing, but I already feel better now that we’re out of December and into 2012! I am really really really excited for this year. I’m excited to be working less, spending more time with David, hopefully taking a fun trip or two and enjoying life. I know we’re only 3 days into the new year, but so far 2012 has been fantastic! =)

I have a lot of hope for 2012. I want it to be a year of joy, love, health, simplicity, peace and relaxation. Sounds easy enough right? =)
Here are a few things I’m aiming for this year:

  • Health. Broad topic I know. I actually have a whole other post brewing about this topic, so I’ll let me words be few for now, other than to say I’m excited to implement a few new things into my daily life.
  • Be intentional. This is a broad topic that ranges from putting the groceries away when I get home to spending more time with friends and family to more date nights with David. I found myself in “autopilot mode” a lot in 2011, where I just kind of went through the motions without truly being fully present. Things got neglected like friendships, laundry, cooking and my devotional times. Much of that had to do with just being too busy and working myself into the ground, but I’d really like to be more intentional with my time, my relationships, my organizing, my business, my spiritual life and my daily routine.
  • New things. This year, I want to do some new things I’ve never done before. I don’t quite know what that entails, but I’m excited. I want to go camping in the snow, skiing in Telluride, try foods I’ve never had before, maybe try painting, maybe visit Kentucky….who knows!
  • Remain in Him. One of my absolute favorite Bible verses is John 15:4. Jesus says “Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” Oh how I long to just remain in Him without straying away, walking down my own path. For me, this means walking in the Spirit as much as possible on a daily basis. Praying, worshipping, journaling, reading the Bible, talking to God, listening to God, keeping my heart open to His leading….I get glimpses of what a rich reward this leads to, and I’m going to try to live like this every day.
  • Volunteer. I haven’t posted about my Wild Good Chase in a long time, but I’m still on it. Still trying to discern God’s will for me and my career path. At this point I really feel Him leading me towards volunteering my time right now. I’m still trying to figure out where to volunteer, but this is a big goal for me this year.
  • Finish decorating. I had a limited amount of time to decorate last year after we moved into our new home. Before long, time was up and wedding season had started, leaving me with little energy for decorating. So this year my goal is to finish painting and get cracking on a few decorating projects. Fun!
Welcome 2012, I’m excited to see what you have in store!
